Masala Chapathi

I have been preparing chapathis/rotis often these days as we all like to have it for dinner.The other day I was all set to make this favorite chapthi of ours and that's when I wanted to tweak the recipe to make it more flavorful and tasty.We also like this chapathi very much and I combined both with few additional ingredients.Result-very very flavorful healthy n tasty chapathi.Give it a try you will love it.

Star ingredients:potato and kasuri methi
Time:30 minutes+30 minutes

Masala chapathi
Ingredients:
2 large or 4 small potatoes,pressure cooked,peeled and mashed
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons crushed kasuri methi
1-2 teaspoons oil
1 teaspoon carom seeds(omam)
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1-2 strands cilantro leaves
Salt

1.Take all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and knead without any water until the potatoes are completely mashed.Next start adding minimum water and knead to a very soft and smooth dough.Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Masala chapathi2.Pinch equal sized balls and roll out thin chapathi.Dust with flour when ever needed to avoid sticking.

3.Heat a tava and cook the chapathis from both sides till light brown spots appear.You can cook them with oil/ghee or on their own as per your preference.

1.The dough may appear tight at first,do not add more water as potatoes tend to leave out moisture.
2.You can totally play around with herbs,spices here and create unique flavors.
3.Serve with hot pickle for additional taste.
