Something about The Mad Skeleton makes me feel at home. I use home loosely for what I really mean is my favorite bar that has live music every night. Sing along lyrics backed with fun, toe tapping music; I just need a few shots, several pitchers and some good friends. Preferably ones that are willing to dance.
Mary Jane of course is one of those songs everyone will love. You will want to dance, drink and toke it up. It's just fun! Though there are countless songs out there about marijuana ( weed, pot, dope, grass, bud, mota, wacky tobaccy ) and I must admit, it does get slightly old, however, this one makes me want to move. Not many do.
On a serious note, after listening to other tracks on this album On The Other Hand, along with the previous album New Highway (2012), you can hear his talent for creating simple, yet concise lyrics. With just the right choice of words, some jaded guitar and necessary harmonica, the point will not only come across, but take over.
Most definately on my my music watch list!
