Marvel’s Ant-Man opens at No. 1, but it hit below projections. On a good note the film continued Marvel’s opening weekend streak. The film, starring Paul Rudd and directed by Peyton Reed, opened at No. 1 with a $58 million gross over this past weekend, according to estimated numbers from Box Office Mojo.

The movie was projected to gross over 60 to 65 million. Ant-Man is Marvel’s second lowest movie since the Incredible Hulk movie.  Box Office Mojo points out, “Ant-Man” has the lowest per-screen average yet for Marvel Studios, coming in slightly below “Incredible Hulk” in that benchmark ($15,051 versus $15,810). Interesting…. I wonder will Any-Man get a sequel? Have y’all seen it yet? If Ant-Man doesn’t get a sequel I can see him in the Avengers movies like the Hulk and Hawkeye. I heard it’s been getting good reviews, but I probably wait until it comes on DVD.
