THE SHOWS Below Deck
There's only one Below Deck for me and that's the one with Captain Lee, Kate, Ben and Kelly. Mediterranean Below Deck sucked. New boat this season. This one, the VALOR is really nice. Big upgrade for all of us. Eddie's gone which is a bummer. He was my favorite. Kelly got Eddie's job and 3 new deckhands. One of them, Trevor, has really weird eyes, sweats wayyyyy too much and is super bossy. Trouble's already on the horizon with this guy. He may have nailed the social media themed dinner (Social MEETia for the main course WAS clever)but he also took his shirt off for the guests and pissed his fellow deckhands off big time. Ben freaked out when the spinach was late but I'm guessing it wasn't really the spinach tardiness that upset him at all. Pretty sure Kate changing teams was freaking him out big time. Kate's now supposedly into girls and has a hot girlfriend which couldn't have been good for Ben's ego or his spinach.
Chrisley Knows Best
Look, I love the city of Nashville, but I don't really get why Todd and Julie are there at all. The house they're in looks unfinished. It almost looks like a home that's been robbed or something . So many pieces of furniture with nothing in them. Cabinets that are empty. It's really weird. Even weirder, an entire episode devoted to a 3 hour drive back to Atlanta for Todd and Julie's couples colonoscopy. (Awwww how romantic) If you've ever had to endure a colonoscopy you know that it's really important to be near a toilet during the entire process. The LAST thing you want to do is take a 3 hour drive after drinking all the poo liquifier, but that's what went down last night on this show. Faye also seems to have developed a gambling problem we knew nothing about all these years. Perhaps the producers thought this would be a fun storyline? Lindsie had to take a cab to go grab her out of a card game where she was winning a fortune. There's nothing likeable about Lindsie at all and I love a good card game. Why do I watch? WHYYYYYYY????
Marriage at First Sight
Tom & Lillian are in good shape even though Lillian's pushing Tom to have kids 2 weeks in. This girl REALLY wants to be married. First she found out the guy lives in a bus and then she found out he's not that into kids and she's stillllll so into him! I'm convinced that Nick has to be on the autistic spectrum or something. He's emotionless, barely speaks, can't read social cues and doesn't seem to need anyone but his dogs. Sonia's also a chick who reallllly wants to be married because she's also still into him for some reason, but I don't see them lasting too long. Lillian gets tons of affection from Tom, but Sonia gets nothing at all from Nick. Heather and Derek are a hot mess. The producers dragged it out Heather's decision to stay in the marriage all episode and just as we are about to get the big answer...TO BE CONTINUED. That is total BS. I hope Heather was home watching herself and seeing what a b*tch she is. Derek seems like a decent guy and she didn't even give him a chance. Has she watched this show before? The producers either set this up or were really pissed at the poor decision to match this chick up with anyone and put her on the show.THE OTHER STUFF
-Netflix renewed Narcos for 2 MORE SEASONS. Not sure how we'll all feel once Pablo's gone. We all love that dude for some reason. I'm only 1/2 way done with Season 2. At this point, Pablo's alive but it's only a matter of time before he's taken out. We all seem to love a good drug lord, so I'm hoping that whoever replaces Pablo is just as lovable. This season, Pablo seems to have gained a tremendous amount of weight. He has a much bigger, harder, non-moving belly than last season. Whatever prosthetic device Wagner Moura'swearing underneath his shirt wasn't a great option. It looks like he's pregnant or something. Won't matter when blood's pouring out of him I guess.
-Queen of the South was renewed for a 2nd Season on USA...see, proof that everyone loves a good drug lord, doesn't matter at all that she's a woman as long she's got guns and a bunch of blow. I never gave this show much of a shot and I don't have time right now to go back to it. I was sort of surprised USA renewed it because I don't know anyone watching. Anyone out there recommend this one?-Zayn Malik left the boy band One Direction, found himself an interesting partner in Dick Wolf, the dude behind all the Law & Orders and Chicago shows and got NBC to greenlight a musical boy band drama. I don't normally report on pilots, deals not done, or shows yet to be produced but I LOVE a good boy band. One Direction's in my Top 3 of all time, so I'm pretty stoked about this one. Zayn's not going to star in it though just executive produce. This could be awesome if it's done right and if the songs are strong. Look what happened to Empire. First season's songs were amazing and the ratings were amazing. Second season, the story and the songs sucked and the ratings plummeted. Zayn & Dick should learn from Lee Daniels mistakes and nail this one.
