Makin’s Clay Blog Hop with Designer Craft Connection

Today is a fun day filled with inspiration using clay from Makin’s Clay® Blog  and a blog hop challenge with the Designer Craft Connection.  You can click on the link in my right sidebar to follow through the hop!  This was so much fun to play with.  It is No Bake Polymer Clay.   I felt like a kid again just playing with my dough-type clay.  Makin’s Clay® has some great tools, push molds, and embossing molds that make it easy to dress up a little project.

I made a little change purse.   I love how I was able to work the clay enough to emboss the texture, but still drape and shape to give it the look of a fabric.   I mixed white clay and a little yellow to create the cream-colored purse.  After rolling out a rectangular shape and cutting it as desired, I used the Eyelet Texture Sheets to roll the texture into the cream clay.   The base was created with the green clay.  I used the same green clay to create the braided handle with a Makin’s Clay® Borders Push Mold.

Here is my little change hole.  I was able to gently fold and shape the clay.  I also used the Makin’s Clay® tool set to pierce the holes in the top of the change purse and threaded twine through for a tie.

I was able to use the Makin’s Clay® roller to create the cork hole.  It was the perfect fit.  After molding and shaping the clay, I let it dry for 24 hours as the directions stated.   It’s a good idea to have a little mister nearby as the clay does dry fairly quickly if you are really working it.   Keep any unused clay covered with a moist towel.  Now I have a cute little change purse and it didn’t requite any baking!
