How to Make Your Own Maxi Dress and Maxi Skirts

Picture Maxi Dress and Skirts for the Summer I had so much fun making these Maxi skirts and the dress, and I was really surprised at how easy it was.  I never confess to being a seamstress.  In fact, I probably shouldn't even own a sewing machine!  With that being said, I thought this dress and skirts were such an easy thing to do, I can't wait to make a few more for the summer.  They are super light and breezy, and a perfect cover up for the pool or beach.  You can find several tutorials on Pinterest for these, but I thought this was the easiest.  Here are a few diagrams I did for you to show you the steps. Super easy and quick!
Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Coral Maxi Chevron with White Band Very quick and easy!  I think each one took me about 30 - 45 minutes tops.  As a non-seamstress person who (dangerously) owns a sewing machine, I kind of liking doing this!!
Picture Tiffany Blue Chevron Maxi Skirt I think I can see making a few more of these in my future!  What do you think about the contrasting white bands rather than using the same Chevron print for the band?  I kind of like the change up…what do you think? Picture Maxi Dress I really like the feel of the dress.  The material is so light and breezy, you don't feel like you are suffocating in the heat all covered up.
I can be easily intimidated by the sewing machine sometimes.  The more I use it, the more I enjoy it and love what I can create.  It's so much fun to make things your self, and the money you save is a bonus as well!
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy tutorial, if you like it, PIN it!  Make sure to follow my boards on Pinterest to see what I have been up to lately!
