Here is a review of a product that I have been totally loving of late.. MAC Lip Conditioner.
This product also featured in my 2013 Beauty Favorites - Skincare Edition.
Price: INR 950 (USD 15) for 15 ml.
What the product claims:
An emollient balm aimed at maxing-out repair by conditioning lips, locking in moisture. Contains Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, vitamins A and E. Formulated for high impact to use alone or under lipstick. Petroleum-based, but not goopy, helps seal in moisture to protect the lips from the environment.
Packaging:
Transparent off-white tube with a black screw-on cap. The tube has a slanted nozzle to deliver required product, which you can directly apply on your lips (something I don't prefer, since its unhygienic).
Convenient packaging, but sadly, you cannot make out how much product is left inside, as in the case of chapsticks!
The way I see it:
I had tried this product when I was on the look for some lipsticks. I really liked how it felt on my lips and immediately purchased this.
Coming to the product, its a transparent gel like that of Vaseline. It is easy to spread on the lips & leaves a glossy finish once applied.
Its feels light & non-sticky on the lips plus has a nice vanilla fragrance too.
It works excellently on my dry lips, even when its chapped at times. It moisturizes the lips to great extent that, each use makes a lot of difference to the lips in maintaining its moisture balance.
It is not ideal to be used a lipstick base, but can be used for hydrating lips before lipstick application if you are a matte lip lover like me!
Had bought this last on last Valentines Day, and it somehow hit the bottom of the vanity with other products taking importance. I have been using this regularly ever since I found it & this has conveniently replaced all of my other lip balms. I don't reach for them at all... :D
Has a lot of nice ingredients going in, though its petroleum based.
I got no complaints against this! I am completely fine paying the price for such a nice product. I have very dry lips & I know how well this has been working for me day & night! :)
A definite repurchase for me....
