My love affair with MAC lipsticks really has come on leaps and bounds over the last few weeks and I have Creme Cup to thank for this as I think it's just the perfect neutral pink for my lips. As someone who always shied away from lipsticks and reached for glosses as a quick lip pick-me-up instead, it's amazing how quickly this has changed as I now wouldn't go anywhere without some lipstick on! For anyone who is worried about lipstick catching dry patches or settling into the lines of your lips (like I used to be), you really should invest in a lip scrub as lipstick really does glide onto the lips so easily and look very natural on freshly scrubbed lips. Anyway.. enough lipstick rambling from me.
As I've already said, I'd describe Creme Cup as the perfect neutral pink shade for me. I feel like I've mentioned this a million times but my pale skin means that some shades can look a bit crazy on me, but there was nothing to worry about as the light pink shade of Creme Cup just complements my complexion so well. I've seen swatches of this shade on numerous skin-tones and thought that it looked flattering on them all so I'd definitely recommend Creme Cup if you're looking for a very wearable light pink lipstick. I've found that this blue-toned soft pink is also great for making my teeth look a bit whiter which is always a big plus, although it's a strange one as it also appears to be quite warm toned on my lips too.
Creme Cup is a cremesheen lipstick which means that it gives a more moisturising and glossy finish to the lips and I have to say I love this finish as it's really improved the appearance of my dull looking lips. I can't stress enough the importance of giving your lips a good scrub beforehand to make sure that your lipstick doesn't settle into any cracks or dry patches, as I think Creme Cup would still be guilty of this despite its creamy texture. I've found this shade to last for about an hour or so on the lips which isn't the best but I don't mind re-applying while I'm out so it's not much of an issue for me.
MAC lipsticks definitely aren't cheap (£14) but I did get my fix through a blog sale which I was really happy about, although now that I've given them a good try I'd definitely nip into MAC and pick up another shade. A little graduation present to myself I think! I'd love some recommendations as I can't make my mind up on which shade to go for next, and I'd even love to branch out into something a bit brighter and more summer appropriate.
