Lunch at Farm Girl

By Winyeemichelle
The other Friday, I made plans with my girl Aisling for a very overdue catch-up (our first since my return from Hong Kong, in fact) and a spot of food in our long-term tradition. For the occasion, I suggested we pop to Farm Girl in Notting Hill to fill our bellies before embarking on our usual spendy voyage.
Farm Girl is one of those Instagram-popular eateries, all greenery and an avocado-full menu and seriously good coffee. It boasts an adorable outside terrace and an even sweeter duplex interior, furnished with plush seating and walls graced with neon lighting. A short walk down through beautiful coloured houses, it’s glued to Sister Jane Vintage and makes for a great place to hang with pals before a busy - or slow! - day ahead.
The menu itself is really catered towards those with gluten-free, dairy-free and/or vegan diets, which we both thought was awesome. It's often frustrating to be limited to only one or two options when poring over a restaurant menu.
I opted for the Baked Eggs with Greek yoghurt (duh) which was the perfect way to kick-start my Friday. I tend to breakfast pretty lightly through the week with granola and fruit on yoghurt with a sprinkle of acai powder, but this absolutely hit the spot. With it went a Rose Latte, my usual order at coffee houses in London. A really refreshing and lighter way to enjoy coffee, I was pleasantly surprised to find this on the menu!
Aisling went for the classic avo on toast with poached eggs, gluten-free bread and a handful of pomegranate seeds. A.k.a. a dreamy combination! Hers looked so damn good - I try not to constantly order avocado on toast but I’m slightly kicking myself that I didn’t.
Expect a queue and a clientele of well-dressed gals here, oft-spotted toting DSLRs and handbags worth more than your rent. It’s fairly reasonably priced for London brunch and the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly.
See you again soon, Farm Girl!
