Lucknow MITF Kicks off Friday!

Posted on the 25 August 2015 by Hendrik Pape @soundcheckblg

Well, as we all know the summer is coming to a close and there aren't many festivals left on the calendar. However one of my favourite events of the year is a mere 3 days away. Lucknow MITF kicks off its 7th year on Friday night with another fantastic weekend of country music lined up.

This Friday don't be shy and get to the park early to catch a few of Ontario's up and comers with Riverbed Gentlemen & Shae Dupuy hit the Sepoy Emerging Artist stage starting at 6:30 pm. First on the MainStage is Runaway Angel. This trio from Southern Ontario released a new single not to long ago called Run Angel Run. It's been almost a whole year since I last saw the girls perform so I am looking forward to seeing them kick off the Main Stage on Friday Night.

Next up is no stranger to us, Jess Moskaluke will hit the Main Stage at 9pm on Friday night. Now I have seen Jess perform a couple times and the most recent is earlier this month at Boots and Hearts when she rocked the kick off party. As I have mentioned in previous articles, Jess's performances have been getting better every time she hits the stage. We are excited to see Jess hit the stage on Friday just before the Headliner takes the stage.

And that headliner is also no stranger to Sound Check. Dallas Smith has been a huge supporter of SCE over the last two years. We have covered numerous shows that Dallas has done and we loved his Lifted Tour earlier this year. To be honest, I haven't seen a Dallas show that I was disappointed in. Dallas is a veteran of the industry and pulls out all the punches during his sets. From fantastic covers to playing some of his back catalogue from his days with Default. Dallas does not disappoint and will have the fans at Lucknow out of the lawn chairs cuttin' the grass with some fine dance moves.

Lets move on to one heck of a busy day in Saturday.

Last year the Saturday at Lucknow was hard to beat. Dirks, The Road Hammers, Tim Hicks, Brett Kissel and Lindsay Ell to name a few. This year its packed again. Kickin' things off on Saturday is Livy Jeanne. Now for those not familiar with Livy she is a rockin' country girl that has the pipes to back it all up. Livy has a new album that was just released and also has a new single at radio All Kinds of Crazy. You can listen to the single below. Don't miss Livy Jeanne kick things off at 2:45pm on the main stage.

Then at 3:30 over at the Sepoy Emerging Artists stage we have Sarnia, Ontario's Eric Ethridge. As some of you have likely already read previously we are big fans of Eric and the boys and you won't want to miss his two sets on the Emerging Artists stage. Here is a real "Country" version of Andy Grammers Honey I'm Good That Eric and his team covered earlier this year. Don't miss Eric hit the stage Saturday at 3:30 & 5 PM.

Next on the main stage is one of Canada's biggest hottest acts Cold Creek County. If you have been listening to country radio over the last 3 or 4 months it would be impossible to not have heard the bands smash hit Our Town. I haven't had the chance to see these guys actually perform live yet so we are pretty excited to see them on the big boy stage at 4pm on Saturday.

After Cold Creek County get the fans all in a tither. Autumn Hill take over the Main Stage. And as you all know we are HUGE Fans of Mike & Tareya and have done some pretty cool things with these two. The two actually were our very first Mason Jar Session. So don't miss the duo perform their hit Blame and a boat load more off their recently release album Anchor.

The final artist on the emerging artist stage is Vanessa Marie Carter. We don't know much about Vanessa but looking forward to her two sets on Saturday night. Here is a single she released not to long ago Just the Whiskey

Seems like this roster is full of friends of Sound Check. The next on the main stage is Chad Brownlee. For those of you that haven't caught a Brownlee show over say the last year or so are missing out. Chad wrapped up his When The Lights Go Down tour with numerous sold out dates on the tour and picking up new fans right across Canada. The Where The Party At hit maker has strung together some fantastic shows already this summer with stops at London Gone Country and earlier this month at Boots and Hearts. Chad is one of the hottest acts in Canadian Country at the moment and you won't want to miss his set starting at 7pm on Saturday night. Chad has done a killer job on Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud and has been released to country radio recently.

Next up on the Main Stage, is Trenton, Florida native Easton Corbin. Easton has been playing his hits since 2009 and shows no signs of slowing up yet. With his recent single burning up the charts and having seen Easton open for a couple acts previously we know that Easton brings a good time to the stage each and every time he hits it! Easton hits the main stage sometime around 8:30 pm on Saturday night. Bring your dancing shoes folks!

And the big headliner for the weekend is none other than The Band Perry. Now I have seen these guys perform from Wrigley Field in Chicago to CMA Awards in Nashville and a few other stops along the way. This trio puts on a show you won't forget. High Energy, Non-Stop Fun! The family band just has something that keeps you on the edge of your seat or heck maybe your dancing on your chair during their set. They have a new single at radio as of last week and well it just so happens to have a video already. Live Forever is the recent single and can be heard here. It's more like an Anthem for life and has a great story.

So, that is your entertainment for this coming weekend if your headed to Lucknow. If your in attendance and you see me kicking around the event. Be sure to say hi!

See you in Lucknow!
