Not long ago I was invited to a Love Locals event held at The Henderson, a Salamander Beach & Spa Resort, which recently opened its doors in Destin. This amazing hotel property is the swankiest we have in the Florida Panhandle, and offers incredible views of the Gulf and the state park west of the property from just about every turn. The drive up to the resort with valet parking isn’t so bad either.
After a tour of the property and sunset cocktails on the rooftop veranda, I dined at Primrose on exceptional cuisine prepared by the hotels new executive chef Brendan Davey. Hailing from Sea Island, he brings his low county style to the menu. I highly recommend the Seafood Paella filled with mussels, shrimp, the fresh daily catch, garden peas, and saffron rice. It was just delicious.
