Since returning from my warm getaway in Taiwan, the weather here in Melbourne has been freezing! I dread the cold not because of the wind or rain but how much it dries up my skin. Now you know why I stocked up on so much face masks! Luckily for me this year, the lovely people from OBAGI sent me their Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream and their Professional-C Serum 10% to help me combat the unpleasant winter skin.

OBAGI Professional-C Serum

This serum is available in 3 different concentrates:

  • 20% Best suited for normal-to-oily skin $99.95
  • 15% For most skin types $79.95
  • 10% For dry, sensitive or reactive skin $69.95

I was sent the 10% concentrate of L-Ascorbic Acid which was perfect for me. I’ve never used this type of serum before so it’s always good to start with the lowest strength and then work your way up. The benefits of this serum are that it complements collagen synthesis, neutralises free radicals, improves pigmentation, brightens skin and retains moisture.

After using the product for a week, I could already see the results on my skin. This serum has brightened and evened my skin tone. No other product has given me the same results within such a short amount of time. I used this in the morning before I moisturise and I can confirm it sits perfectly fine under makeup. Sometimes if I forget to use it during the day, I’ll use it at night underneath the OBAGI Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream and I wake up with even better skin.

OBAGI Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream

The Hydrate Luxe Moisture-Rich Cream leaves your skin feeling incredibly hydrated. It absorbs quite quickly into the skin and does not leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. Every morning when I wake up to wash my face, I’m always surprised at how smooth my face is.

The cream helps to smooth out fine lines and provides healthier looking skin. The formula contains ingredients such as Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Avocado Oil and Glycerin to help hydrate the skin and Chronoline to reduce appearance of fine lines.

The price of this cream is $79.95. Before you start saying how expensive this is, hear me out. I’ve been using this close to 2 months now and it has hardly left a dent in the jar. I used a pea-sized amount each night and that’s all you need to moisturise the entire face.

OBAGI is available at cosmetic clinics, dermatologists and plastic surgeons.
