The summer events and hospitality season is well underway for RTS. It is our expertise in Waste Management and Recycling that wins new customers and return business when working at major cultural events in London, Kent and Somerset. RTS Waste are very experienced and have a flexible operation to accommodate either short notice requests or be a part of strategic long term planning. RTS will be here to help the event be a clean and environmentally fresh venue for everyone visiting to enjoy the various spectacular activities that await large audiences.
The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival
The 18th London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday 30th June at the London Regatta Centre Docklands E16 was the latest event RTS provided Eurobins for waste collection and recycling. The London Chinatown Lions Club organize this charity fund raiser where 40 boats compete on the day www.1c1c.co.uk. Working with the London Chinatown Chinese Association on the 2013 programme was fantastic and becomes bigger and better each year.
Let the Drums Beat
Attracting hundreds of fans of sport and Chinese culture. This popular event has tremendous energy in the atmosphere. Each of the 40 vessels are around 30ft long and have 16 strong rowers to power the elaborately decorated Dragon boats along the river. The unique sound of this water sport is not the shouting and cheering from the banks but the drumming that comes from on board the boats. The beating of the drum pounds out the rhythm for the rowers building the racing atmosphere to a climax. The event was unprecedented with a mix of cultural attractions and family entertainment. RTS was a small but integral part with our crew of dust cart drivers and assistants collecting all the additional bins at the end of the day and the waste was disposed of and taken to our Material Recovery Facility to be recycled. A fantastic place to work at.
