London By Night

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Big Ben, London

If London has an alter ego, it emerges after nightfall. I shot these without a tripod, just handheld while shivering a bit — not ideal for night shots, that is for sure.

But winter shooting at night in London isn’t so bad: the crowds are usually only at rush hour, the fog can be mysterious and interesting in photos, and there’s always a pub or café to duck into for a reprieve. I was on a visiting trip versus a sightseeing trip — it’s a small miracle I was able to capture anything. My camera seldom left my bag except in colourful Shoreditch, which I’ll post about separately.
