Lockheed P-38L Lightning

@ Madras, Oregon

August 2015

This photo of Tangerine high over central Oregon is a milestone for me as this is my very first image taken air-to-air (and luckily it was in focus).  She had just come into view from behind Scott Slocum’s Bonanza and is forming up for the first series of photos. This was from the Madras Air 2 Air Experience air-to-air photography workshop put on in conjunction with the Erickson Aircraft Collection located in Madras, OR.  This beautiful Lightning was purchased for only $1250 as war surplus in 1946 and was eventually acquired by Jack Erickson in 1994.  Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm, processing with Aperture.
