Lockheed Martin C-5B Galaxy

Vertical Challenge, Hiller Museum@ San Carlos Airport, San Carlos, CA

June 2006

A C-5 makes a low flyby during the 2006 Vertical Challenge helicopter airshow put on by the Hiller Aviation Museum.  Once the largest aircraft in the world, the USAF has operated the C-5 since 1969 in operations all over the world.  131 aircraft are in the current fleet.  The C-5M Super Galaxy is an upgraded version with new engines and modernized avionics designed to extend its service life beyond 2040.  Shot with my pre-DSLR Panasonic DMC-FZ30, processed with Aperture.
