Yes, the makers of also very popular Free Messaging and Call app. And so, in LINE Camera too one finds the same cute characters and themes that are present in various other apps from LINE Corporation.
LINE Camera Is a multi-featured photo editor. It can be used to add effects while taking a picture, and also to edit old photos. Features include various filters, beauty effects like slimming, enlarging of eyes, reshaping of nose etc. Also, various frames and cartoon, date and text stamps too can be added to the pictures. Many of these frames and stamps are free. And many more are available at a price.
The news to note here is that LINE Camera has been downloaded more than 100 million times. And to celebrate that, some sets of paid stamps are being offered for free for a limited time.
Besides the usual editing like cropping, brightening of pictures and addition of filters, frames and stamps, one can also doodle on the picture using various paint brushes available in the app. These Include the brushes that can draw lines with various effects like dashes, glitter etc.
As for the user interface, the Home Screen of the app is highly customizable. One can alter the look of the Home Screen using various themes and characters. On the whole though, I felt the user interface a little cluttered, especially while adding stamps.
I personally prefer apps that look clean and simple, without lacking in capabilities.
Well, in terms of capabilities, LINE Camera does not disappoint. But one should better use its beauty features with caution. Because, really, when a healthy person appears too slim, or a dusky person appears too fair, it is easy enough to guess now that a photo editing app is behind that beauty enhancement.
LINE SnapMovie
While Line Camera Is a photo editor, we also have a video editor from Line Corporation. This app is called LINE SnapMovie. It can be used to apply effects to a video. These effects include various filters, background music and text that can be added to videos.
I found this app quite fun to use. And it made recording interesting videos really easy. One just needs to use the app to record a video, then choose the desired filter and add desired background music from the options given in the app. One can also add text at the beginning of the video. The text stamps can be selected from the available options. Custom text can also be added. Once all that is set, just click on Save. The video takes a few seconds to get ready. But once ready, it is lot of fun to watch with the text, effects and background music added.
The user interface of LINE SnapMovie is quite nice and simple and very pleasing. However, Snapmovie can only record videos of upto 30 seconds. And it has no option to clip the videos. That is, it can’t be used to remove selected portions of a video.
