Lincoln’s Brings Elegance to a Grand Scale with New Navigator Concept

Posted on the 25 March 2016 by Beinglatinacom

Just when I thought that Lincoln had outdone itself with the return of it's flagship vehicle the Lincoln Continental, the automobile company has now introduced quiet luxury to full-size SUVs with the all-new Navigator Concept. The luxury SUV features better performance, more space and further refinement than the original Navigator which was introduced by Lincoln in 1997. Lincoln's design team definitely went above my expectations when reimagining the Navigator Concept. The design team drew inspiration from luxury sailboats and yachts which influenced the design throughout the vehicle from the clean, modern lines and Storm Blue paint on the exterior that mimics the grays and blues of sea and sky, to the teak finishes, custom gear and wardrobe management system found inside. I have personally worked and traveled on luxury yachts and the extravagancy of this SUV is comparable to where this concept vehicle is like you are looking at a luxury yacht on wheels.

The gullwing doors on the Navigator are a majestic feature that provides passengers with easy access both in and out of the SUV, while offering plenty of accessible space that allows passengers to place items in the back passenger seats with ease. When I showed my kids a 360 degree view of the Navigator's gullwing doors, deployable concertina steps, and huge interior, my son literally kept repeating "How?! How?!" saying that this must be a car from a movie and I told him that this was a real concept car, which he then responded by saying "That's amazing" and kept rewinding the video. My daughter's reaction of seeing the Lincoln Navigator went from a long "Wow" to then demanding that I "Please get this for us."

The Navigator Concept is sure to satisfy even the most discerning fan of large SUVs as it offers elegance on a grand scale. "The all-new Navigator Concept reinforces our commitment to give every Lincoln client what we call quiet luxury - vehicles and experiences that are elegant, effortlessly powerful and serene," said Kumar Galhotra, president of Lincoln. "This kind of quiet luxury sets Lincoln apart. Now, we're showing fans of large SUVs how we can exceed their expectations, without being the loudest statement on the road."

GO-ANYWHERE PERFORMANCE: The Navigator Concept is engineered to provide drivers with a peace of mind; drivers can choose from several drive modes to improve ride and handling and to find the drive experience that best suits their mood - including steering, suspension and noise levels. The Navigator features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine delivering more than 400 horsepower and smart new technologies to make this SUV even more sure-footed on different road surfaces and in changing weather conditions.

PERSONAL SANCTUARY: Navigator Concept provides the most spacious interior ever, which is a key want among buyers of large SUVs. The leather-wrapped interior is rendered in a light blue and features six Lincoln-patented Perfect Position Seats which adjust 30 ways to best support occupants' different body types. The driver's seat, for instance, includes independent deployable thigh supports for maximum comfort.

EASIER, MORE CONNECTED DRIVING, THANKS TO NEW TECHNOLOGY: The Navigator Concept features Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, which uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle or pedestrian is detected, the system provides a warning to the driver. If the driver does not respond in time, it automatically can apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions. Pre-Collision Assist can help drivers avoid rear end collisions with other vehicles at all speeds, while Pedestrian Detection can help the driver avoid pedestrians at lower speeds. Both systems can reduce the severity of forward collisions, or even prevent certain forward collisions.
