LIDAR Webinar on Data Quality Control

URISA has been offering several online educational webinars for members of the geospatial community (beginner to intermediate level, including GIS managers, geospatial analysts, survey professionals, scientists and students), the LIDAR series Webinar by Mark Stucky of GeoSpatial Solutions division of Merrick & Company on LIDAR is part 3 of a mini series that was designed to  review concepts involving LIDAR, some of its real world applications, data processing and quality control approaches and samples of visualizing the data sets.

LiDAR is an emerging optical remote sensing technology that uses pulses of light to determine an object’s range and other pertinent information. Most commonly, LiDAR is used to generate terrain products including surface models and elevation contours. LiDAR data is also being used to generate accurate 3D visualizations, which can be used for a variety of planning, engineering and construction activities.

Topics include:

  • Quality Control Concepts
  • USGS v13 LiDAR Specification
  • Visual QC Approaches
  • Quantitative QC Approaches

Date: Wednesday, June 27th at 1 PM EST/ 10 AM PT (Duration is one hour)

Registration Fees: URISA International Members: $25 & Nonmembers: $35 see http://www.urisa.org/UCLiDAR
