Liar – Liar

By Bren @Virtual_Bren

One of my biggest peeves in this world is a Liar and a Cheat!

Today I’m going to talk about the LIAR. You know the one, they are sneaky, deceiving, dishonest, greasy, slime balls that LIE to your face and truly should not be allowed to exist on earth!

Characteristics of a Liar

  1. They avoid eye contact
  2. They may act skirmish or fake a smile - Insecure
  3. If asked a question, may give a dozen explanations or fumble around the answer
  4. Will change the subject or revert the question back to whomever is asking it
  5. May give several different versions of the same story – Inconsistencies
  6. Becomes defensive when confronted

Do you know one of these people?

Types of Liars

Oh you didn’t know there were different Types of Liars? Actually, there are four (4) types of Liars but in my opinion, a Liar is a Liar, right?

  1. The “Sometimes” Liar – these are those that will lie when feeling guilty about something and just don’t want to tell the truth
  2. The “Frequent” Liar – they lie all the time but are sloppy about it and easily trip themselves up
  3. The “Smooth” Liar – these Liars are very good. They have so much practice that they can make anyone believe them.
  4. The “Compulsive” Liar – Compulsive lying is an addiction. They can’t tell the truth even if it isn’t harmful to someone else. Lying is their “norm” and they will bend the truth on everything. Also known as the “Pathological” Liar, “Habitual” Liar, and “Chronic” Liar.

Now, do you know of any one like this?

My Thoughts

My parents raised me to tell the truth, no matter how much it will hurt someone. They would tell me Liars always finish last; are horrible, dishonest, and distrustful people. I remembered that to this day.

Now I know, no one is perfect and might have a little white lie, but those are minor and harmless to others.

I have been around Liars all my life and to be honest, I’m getting rather good at sniffing them out. I DESPISE being lied to!

The ones that truly bother me are family members and loved ones. The ones who can look you straight in the face and lie to you. You may not catch it the first few times, but eventually you will begin to notice the characteristics (see above) on.and will easily catch on.

Personally, I believe Lying can destroy a relationship; any kind of relationship; marriage, friendship; work; even public figures including our President, Prime Ministers, etc.

Isn’t it being a bigger and better person to just tell the truth? Isn’t a Liar also a Coward in some ways? Unless they are Compulsive, they are lying because they are afraid to tell the truth, right?

I’d Like To Know

Why are these people allowed to walk this earth spreading harmful Lies and hurting so many people?

What are your thoughts on Liars, Lying, and being Lied to?
