Letters to Littles:October 2011

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
Inspired by Sausagemama and Zoie at TouchstoneZ, I am writing a monthly letter to my children. If you would like to join in or read others' letters, check out the linky here.
Dear Defne,
you are 4 years 10 months old now. This past month, you have become even more confident at your new school. I enjoy watching you grow into a little school girl.
One day you asked me what an office is. Then you added that the teacher said to a child "If you are naughty, you will be sent to the Headteacher's office." Oh dear! That broke my heart a little, but, yes, you are not living in the little bubble I created for you and sooner or later you wil learn lots of thing about life and sometimes these things will not be so pleasant.
This month you mastered your new skill, cycling. You enjoy it so much, you ask to  ride your bike at every opportunity.
Now that you spend most of the day at school, we don't get to play as much as we did. Luckily, last week was half-term and I hope we made up for it a little bit.
Derin has started holding your hand when we are out and about. I love watching you caring for your little brother.
I am so proud of you.

Dear Derin,
you are 22 months old now. You have grown so much and became a much more mature child. You are still my wild boy though. You love walking and every time we need to go somewhere, there is an argument. Somedays you will not wear a jacket. (Oh baby, it is getting cold now so you need to wear it,sorry) Sometimes you won't sit in the buggy (I always try to give you the chance to walk, but sometimes this is just not practical)
Your vocabulary is growing everyday and I love hearing you talk.
Your are very opinionated about your clothes which is a bit tricky!
You have decided it is not so bad holding someone's hand. (I am so grateful) I love watching you walk together with your sister.
You enjoy spending time with your grandma and play a lot with her.
You  still enjoy music and dance even better now.
I am so proud of you!
