Letters to littles:August 2011
Dear Defne,
you are 4 years 9 months old now. As it is the summer holiday, we spent lots of time together at the park and riverside this  month. I hope you had a nice time.
Daddy took one week off from work and one day he took you to London and you visited the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. You were fascinated with the dinosaurs and the butterflies at the NHM. Daddy says you were also captivated by the architecture of the museum. It is really impressive and as a little girl, it must have felt even more impressive and big to you!
You have been demanding a short hair for ages but I wasn't willing to let go of your beautiful long hair. But now that I understood, you really want your hair short, we went for it. You look lovely with your new hair cut.
September will be full of new experiences for you. My mum is coming to visit us in two weeks and you can't wait to see your your Grandma.
You are also starting to school which will be a whole new world to all of us.
I love you.

Dear Derin,
you are 20 months old now. I can't believe you will be two in a few months. You are babbling more and communicating better.
You love playing with balls and every musical object grabs your interest and never seem to tire of them.
Your favorite song is Incy Wincy Spider and a Greek lullaby  Despite being in Greek,Defne  can sing it now and you ask for this song saying "nino, nino" You can also sign more now.
For the last few days, you have been saying "kaka" but you refuse sitting on the potty for more than 30 seconds :)
You love being outdoors and had a lovely time in the forest last week. You love pointing the flowers and smelling them. You love running around. Despite that you have finally began holding my hand whilst walking! That is a really big development my little one.
I wish I could say you are sleeping better by this point, but no, not yet! That is a bit hard on me but I am sure we will get there at some point.
I love you.
