Lets Talk About Health and Fitness: Get The Glow - Madeleine ShawMadeleine Shaw has pretty much gone straight to the top of my girl crush list. With an attitude that focuses on health and happiness she really is the dream. Since purchasing her new book "Get The Glow" I've started to really change my outlook on food. Madeleine's obsession with a healthy lifestyle begun after a battle most of us are familiar with, the daily struggle of consuming junk food and sleeping a lot. After being diagnosed with IBS she decided that this lifestyle was to blame for her unhappy gut and decided to start a journey to improve her health. She jetsetted away from bustling London and settled into the relaxed vibes of Australia where she worked at an organic cafe in Sydney. Here she learnt how to properly source, prepare and cook delicious, natural ingredients and really discovered how to feed your body. From here on in, Madeleine studied Integrative Nutrition and moved back to London to practice as a nutritionist. In addition to this, she is also a mega yogi babe definitely knows her shavasana from a dogward facing dog. The book itself is beautifully published by Orion and features beautiful array of photographs with accents of dusky pink throughout. The book is split into two sections with the first section offering diet plans, advice on how to banish sugar, gluten and focus upon your well-being whilst the second section offers beautiful recipes. I have even purchased a mini food processor due to this book as she encourages you to banish added sugar from your diet and opt to create everything from scratch. A few ideas that have gone straight to the top of my list include raw cacao balls, sweet potato dip with rosemary crackers, scrambled egg with avocado and pesto. I'm going to attempt to cut gluten from my diet and see how the detox effects me. With a purchase of Quinoa bread today I am all set. Oh excuse me whilst I just go and throw that packet of cookies out....
