Last weekend I made a small start to my Christmas shopping. I'm usually a 'wait till December before thinking about it' kinda gal but this year I'm trying to be organised. I was helped on my way after visiting the lovely The Market craft fair in Edinburgh. Here I bought some small gifts from the super Vivid Please and the wonderful Twiggd. I also visited Black Box, which is an amazing treasure trove of jewellery, homeware and accessories, and left with a little bag filled with Xmas treats.
My aim is to buy as many gifts as possible from small independent makers/shops. Etsy, Folksy, et al are great for this but I'm also trying to attend as many craft fairs and events so I can get a good look at things in person. Luckily there are a couple coming up. I'm looking forward to the DJCAD students Show Off pop up event tomorrow and the DCA Christmas Craft and Design Market next Saturday.
