Back in Rome. Finally I’ve only stayed in Milan for 4 days. I’ve decided to lose some runways…because I need to elaborate. A moment to rethink my role in this glittered world. When you talk about Fashion Week..it is easy to have an “overdose”. Of trends, street style, excesses, exaggerations and parties … a little less of real fashion. But I will always remember how wonderful is at the exact instant when they switch off the lights and you can finally discover the secret world the designer has imagined. The calendar is always a succession of continuous shows. One per hour. Overlapping since each show accumulates delay. And you – without thinking of the fatigue – run from side to side. This time I’ve discovered how fun it is to throw together with pro photographers to capture looks and trends. Maybe asking the more experienced names of people. They were all in Milan – the people of Fashion Business. But there are also “common people” those who dress only to be photographed “outside” the most important shows. Pretending to enter, pretending to call, talking or just walking there by chance. Everything for those few seconds of glory when an accessory, a print, a pair of glasses or an eye-catching look suddenly attracted the attention of 1,2,3 …. photographers. And you become a star.
Someone said that the street is the new catwalk … and I would say that this is so. Here there is no need for calls, invitations, queue for a place, queue for standing, prayers, sweet eyes and so on … It is just imagination, originality, creativity and why not a good deal of boldness and courage.
