iPhone 5 is going to be thinner than its predecessors? Featuring new design, technology and larger display? These are all nothing more than plain rumours, and not until mid-September will we know about exact appearance and features of the iPhone 5.
The New iPhone 5?
iPhone 5 is probably one of the most anticipated smartphones. When Apple revealed their latest smartphone, we all thought it was going to be an iPhone 5, but instead of it, all we got is a slightly improved version of iPhone 4 – named iPhone 4S.
Although the iPhone 4S has quickly become very popular, we kept on anticipating the new iPhone 5. And it seems that this time has almost come. According to the latest rumours, the new iPhone would have larger display than its predecessors and it might even reproduce the contents in high quality 16:9 resolution. It might even come with faster processor and more RAM (1 GB of RAM instead of the previous 512 MB). The iPhone 5 will be bigger, but at the same time thinner than iPhone 4 / 4S. It will probably be available in two colours – black and white.
Next iPhone dock connector?
But there one question left unanswered. Will the iPhone accessories be compatible with iPhone 5? For example, all iPhone models have the same dock connector. Therefore, all iPhone accessories like speaker docks and chargers are compatible with all iPhone models and iPod Touch. If Apple actually implement an 8-pin connector instead the current 30-pin port, it would mean that the old iPhone accessories will not work with the new iPhone 5, and accessories manufacturers are therefore faced with a new task – the production of iPhone 5 accessories. The same stands for iPhone cases and covers, while the iPhone 4 case was compatible with iPhone 4S, this time it probably won’t be the case, because of the different dimensions of the devices.
The only thing we can do now is waiting for the launch of the new iPhone.
