Latest In Beauty Perfume Society Box

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Latest In Beauty, if you don't already know, specialise in beauty boxes. Recently, they collaborated with The Perfume Society to create a unique package. I was very lucky to have been sent one and so wanted to show you all.

The collaboration is designed to bring you the most gorgeous smelling skincare you'll ever own. I've expressed my thoughts and general dislike of heavily scented skincare on my blog before, so I was already a little bit hesitant when trying this lot out.
PACKAGING
First off, the contents come in a nice black canvas makeup bag that has gold hardware. Be warned if you have pets, cat/dog hair sticks to this really easily (my cat rolled on it... as cats do... #AssHoles haha) but a quick brush with a linen roller has it back to brand new. I love the bag, I'm going to use it for traveling as it's the perfect size.
CONTENTS
What's in it? There are 10 products inside, some are full size but most of the products are travel size. The products you can expect to see (SPOILER ALERT) are:
  • Weleda Pomegranate Body Lotion
  • Amie New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish
  • Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Body Cream
  • Balance Me Collagen Boost Restore & Replenish Face Cream
  • Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque
  • Aurelia Aromatic Repair & Brighten Hand Cream
  • This Works Sleep Plus Trouble Shooter
  • Rosalena Rock & Rose Face Oil
  • MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion
  • Ultrasun Face SPF 30
MY FAVOURITE THINGS
Instead of giving you a brief of everything in the Latest In Beauty Perfume Society Box, I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite things before talking about some of my not so favorite things.
My favorite item from the collection is the Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Clay Masque. Believe it or not, this smells like marzipan, but not overpoweringly.  I whacked this on my face and let it sit until it dried (about 20 minutes in total) and when I rinsed it off, my face instantly looked brighter and unlike some other clay masks I've used (*cough* Montagne Jeunnesse *cough*) this didn't make my skin feel dry.
I also love the 'This Works' Sleep Plus Trouble Shooter. You can spray this on dry areas of your body (elbows, knees etc) and this will give them some moisture at the same time as having a relaxing scent (like lavendar!).
The Amie New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish is on my list for repurchasing. This smells floral without being overpowering and is full of little micro beads which dissolve on your skin when worked in. It's rough enough to get rid of dry, dead skin but also mild enough that it doesn't irritate your skin.
Lastly for my favorite products is the Balance Me Collagen Boost Restore & Replenish Face Cream. I like Balance Me as a brand in general and my skin felt really hydrated after using it. It's got a floral scent which in the tube has a significant scent, but on the skin, is actually really mild.
DISAPPOINTING PRODUCTS
I'm not usually the kind of lass who talks about products that I don't like, If I don't like it, I normally just wouldn't mention it, but nowadays, I'm much braver and feel it's only fair that I show both sides of the spectrum.  For me, a couple of products didn't fit the bill.
The Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Body Cream was nicely scented of Rose, but it was quite overpowering for me personally and I felt like it left my skin feeling a bit tacky an hour or so after applying.
Secondly, and lastly, is the Rosalena Rock & Rose Face Oil. This is quite strongly scented (surprisingly not of rose oil IMO!) and whilst it was really nourishing, I could still feel it on my skin the next morning. Some people might love that, but it just wasn't my jam.
WHAT ABOUT THE REST?
I'm yet to try the MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potionbut just FYI, it smells like peppermint Listerine which is right up my street and the Ultrasun Face SPF 30 is fragrance free and whilst I love using an unfragranced SPF, I'm slightly confused as to why it was in the box considering it was a collaboration with the Perfume society. If someone can enlighten me, let me know in the comments!
I was actually REALLY impressed with this. Normally beauty boxes scare me a bit (I dislike surprises, yes, I am a granny..) and I normally am only impressed with one or two items, but I can see me repurchasing at least four of the products in this bag.
Good one LIB!
