Here's the full size version of the new banner image, which was painstakingly reduced by me to the requisite 950x248 pixels, though unfortunately the black stripe cuts across the child's head. This is by Pino Daeni (1939-2010), an Italian-American illustrator and artist. His painting style is known as Impressionist Revival, and you can see why. Very sweet, romantic and evocative. And yes, it is called Late Night Reading.
