I was very kindly sent the Effaclar Duo [+]* by Escentual, at the time I had the original Effaclar Duo on the go and so it has taken me a little while to get to the point where I can review it. I don’t like to open a new product when I have one on the go, and I’m glad I waited as I won’t be going back to the original Effaclar Duo.
I have found since using the original Effaclar Duo the amount of breakouts I get has significantly decreased. Since I started using the Effaclar Duo [+] when I do breakout, I very rarely get spots with a big white head, I might get the odd small one, but there are no big ones to be seen. I’ve also found that they’re not as sore either, when they’re underneath the surface and coming out. I used to get angry red spots, but not any more, I still get red spots but they are not as angry.
I usually use this after I’ve cleansed my skin, both morning and evening, then I’ll add a moisuriser or night cream on after. If I’m having a no makeup day then I’ll just skip the moisutriser as the Effaclar Duo [+] has a moisturising effect too, and I want to use a minimal amount of products.
I’m planning on repurchasing once, I get towards the end, I love it so much and definitely prefer it over the original Effaclar Duo. Don’t get me wrong I like the original Effaclar Duo but I think the Effaclar Duo [+] does much more for my skin and helps to keep it clearer.
