Konik Horses - 30 Days Wild - Day 2
As mentioned in yesterday's post we are trying to take part in the Wildlife Trusts #30DaysWild campaign, it's all about trying to do something wild in nature every day through June, well today we decided to pop down to the Floodplain Forest Nature reserve and have our first look at the Konik Horses running free on the reserve

Konik Horses - 30 Days Wild - Day 2

Bubs and I set out, her scooting me fast walking to keep up, and headed straight to the nature reserve, I think the little lady was over excited at seeing the grey/brown horses in action, and it wasn't long after we arrived that we spotted them, lounging around in front of the Farm Hide, at first 3 of the 4 were literally lying down in the heat of the day, but soon they were up and wandering about.

We didn't do much other than look out at the horses, discussing how "Jack" (the one horse that remained lying down the longest) was actually not being lazy but instead sneakily eating an ice lolly.
Jack: "what, no I'm not eating anything!" Other horse: "Jack your tongue is blue"Jack: "I'm just cold"Other horse: "it's like a million degrees out!"
Out of the mouths of babes!
With thirst and hunger drawing us back home again, we left the horses to it and headed back home along the canal.
