Kipper : Ray Lewis Looks To Be Getting The New England Patriots Treatment For Cheating

By Kipper @pghsportsforum
Deliver a questionable head shot during a game and you get suspended if you're a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers ... Get busted for taking PED's... and you can keep playing - in the Super Bowl.
That's the Goger Goodell "Hardass, disciplinary League". It's a bunch of crap if you ask me. Ray Lewis shouldn't be playing in the Super Bowl. End of story. He can deny using them all he wants (not too many Illegal substance users freely admit to it at first), but the fact is, right now he's been busted and should be suspended. Hold his loud, crying, selfish, murdering *** to the same standards the League tries to claim they hold everyone to.
The problem with this is that they won't. For some reason Roger Goodell puts cheaters on a whole different level of discipline. He will fine and suspend players instantly for questionable helmet to helmet contact but if you get caught cheating which effects not only the outcome of games and record books but money a team receives (think of how much more money the Pittsburgh Steelers organization would've pulled in had they went to the Super Bowl in 2001 and 2003?)... you get a slap on the wrist. That was the case with the New England Patriots in 2007.
We can go a step further. You can get accused of a crime and never even convicted, like Ben Roethlisberger and receive a 4 game suspension for having a finger pointed at him but Ray Lewis is going to use performance enhancing drugs to come back from a difficult injury at an old age to help his team to the Super Bowl and get nothing? Such is life i the Roger Goodell NFL. It's why Roger Goodell makes Gary Bettman and Bud Selig look competent and trust me, that is no easy task. He has taken a great sport and royally screwed it up with his actions.
Unfortunately, the type of PED that Ray Lewis took isn't test or detectable through current tests..
Quote:
The NFL Players Association said the league does test for IGF-1, the banned substance found in deer-antler extract, but the NFL said it is not detectable with the league's current testing methods.
Which means, Ray Lewis like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens etc... took an illegal substance that is not yet banned. He "beat the rules" in order to cheat. Like video taping Defensive signals. I'm sure if he took a **** test he would Ryan Braun that and find some way to accuse a professional of wrong doing to walk away free, because that is what Ray Lewis is good at :
Walking away from performing something illegal
Allowing Ray Lewis to play is bad for the game. Most fans know this. It sends a bad message to kids, to other players and coaches that suggests that cheating is tolerated by the NFL. You can be accused of a crime and receive a 4 game suspension base don "nothing", but go ahead and cheat, the NFL will allow you to play in the Super Bowl.
That's one hell of a reward for Cheating
