Kids Night! with Quintette 7

By Clarineticus @Clarineticus
The West Point Band will present Kids Night! on Sunday, July 10 at West Point’s Trophy Point Amphitheatre at 7:00 pm. The West Point Band’s Quintette 7 will present a night of high energy music and activities that will be engaging and memorable to children and parents alike. Children will leave the event with take-aways like crayons and bubbles. This event is free and open to the public.
Quintette 7 will perform energetic pieces
from cartoons such as Looney Tunes and put a comical spin on classics like Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, while leading the audience through a “day in the life” of a West Point Band member. Children will be invited to come close to the stage and participate in activities the band members perform as Soldiers/Musicians in the United States Army, guided by the night’s announcer, Master Sgt. Matt Wozniak.
Bring your budding musicians early to hear brass quintets from the West Point Band at 6:15 pm as they stroll the grounds of Trophy Point and offer an “instrument petting zoo” at 6:30 pm. It will be a great chance to introduce children to band instruments and hear some of the finest musicians of the Hudson Valley up close.
The West Point Band’s Quintette 7 is a high energy ensemble that dazzles audiences with their virtuosity. Quintette 7 is proud to serve the Army as an ensemble of the West Point Band, presenting educational and entertaining events to appreciative audiences.
