Kate Moss Over the Years …

By Fashionvisuals @fashion_visuals

Kate Moss was born in January 16, 1974 in London, England and at the age of 14 she was discovered at JFK Airport, NYC with her dad by a modelling agency that changed her life forever and made her into the superstar she is today. Her first ever photo shots at 14 taken by, David Ross have recently been sold in an auction for an undisclosed price.

It was Kate’s natural beauty that made her stand out from the crowd and even though her height stands at a small 5 ft 7in the modelling agency took her on and after her first feature in Calvin Klein’s, Obsession ad campaign in 1993 she became the most sought after models around the world.

Moss is known for her waifish (an incredibly thin person with large eyes – like Twiggy in the 60s) figure and role in size zero fashion and she created a stir in the modelling world for not only her image but her controversial private life. Her personal life involved high profile relationships with some well respected men such as Johnny Depp – to less approved men such as Pete Doherty.

Speaking of her relationship with Johnny Depp to the Telegraph, Moss stated: “I was lucky to be with Johnny… he taught me a lot about fame.

“He told me ‘never complain, never explain’. That’s why I don’t use Twitter and things like that. I don’t want people to know what is true all the time and that’s what keeps the mystery.”

She also revealed how the paparazzi culture defined her style out of work: “If you do a different look every day, they’re going to be waiting for the next look, and then it’s a paparazzi shot. Whereas if you just wear the same thing, then they get bored and leave you alone.”

Her life aside from modelling also featured a huge party lifestyle involving drugs and her life very much resembled sex, drugs and rock and roll, but now her daughter, Lila Grace Moss to her ex partner, Jefferson Hack (editor of Dazed and Confused) and marriage to husband, Jamie Hince has ended her partying days.

Moss has also had campaigns for major fashion brands around the world including; Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Chanel and Rimmel and these are a few just to name. She has also been featured in UK, US and French Vogues cover (the British Vogue cover 30 times) in addition to teaming with fashion store sensation, Topshop to create her own line of clothing.
