Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 - Oh, How I Love Thee!

By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPig
Since I am so prone to breakouts, I am not big on changing up my skincare products. When I ran out of my previous moisturizer, it was a big deal that I decided to try out the Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 from Josie Maran! I blame QVC and, yes, I am a bit embarrassed to admit I occasionally watch QVC. Stop laughing Dad! Anyway, Josie Maran was on one night. Every time I go to Sephora I find myself checking out her section of goodies, so I kept watching. She was talking about the Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40. I am a huge fan of sunscreen in my moisturizer because I actually do relish being pale, and you cannot read a beauty blog without hearing about the wonders of Moroccan oil (same thing as Argan oil – I make homemade soap so I know my oils!). So yes, Josie, you now have my full attention!

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 - Oh, How I Love Thee!In this particular QVC presentation, Ms. Maran mentioned this was a great way to try using Argan oil without going full-out for the straight oil. Having oily patches and acne-prone skin I am among those who are not convinced that putting straight oil on my face is a good idea – yet! So keep talking Josie! This moisturizer also has not just an SPF 40, which is incredibly high, but it is a chemical-free sunscreen! It is sounding better and better. Now add in Argan oil which is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. This is supposed to repair and reverse sun damage, fight signs of aging and improve skin tone. It is also good for hydration, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, and oil production. Hmm. Any down sides to this wonder product?!? Ok. I’m sold!

One pump of Josie Maran's Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40

This moisturizer really does seem to be a wonder product!!!! It comes out of its amber glass bottle through a pump dispenser and is a stark white, light-weight lotion. It takes only about one half to one full pump for my entire face. This moisturizer completely disappears into the skin – no ghost face since the pure white lotion melts seamlessly into the skin. It has a very pleasant, subtly sweet almost fruity scent. Something slightly exotic, maybe similar to passionfruit? It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling comfortable. Not too oily, nor too dry. What impresses me most is that this feeling stays all day! My face does not get oily throughout the day. It just stays calm and collected, if you will! I have never found another moisturizer that has left my skin this way! As far as improving my skin tone, I feel like it looked a bit healthier almost immediately. No scientific proof here, but I have no complaints in terms of the appearance of my skin…well, aside from my pre-existing huge pores that refuse to shrink! However, I will say that it seemed like my pores looked a tiny bit smaller after using this moisturizer. I feel really good knowing that I have an SPF 40 on my face every morning. I am completely in love with Josie Maran’s Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 40!!! I am so convinced of its wonders that I plan to pick up the straight Argan Oil to replace my night time moisturizer ASAP!
