Jarware Product Review

Meet Jarware, an American company that encourages the repurposing and reusing of glass jars. To prevent you from throwing away these non-biodegradable items, Jarware produces clever attachments to make Mason jars into creatively purposeful household items.

I gave several Jarware jar tops a try and was truly impressed.

So how does it work??

Tea Infuser

I got the Tea Infuser set. It is dishwasher safe, fits perfectly on a 16 oz jar, but this is just a recommended size.  It fits any Mason jar mouth.  It comes complete with its strainer, and you can actually use it with tea bags and not just tea leaves. I made a cold brew passion fruit tea with loose tea leaves and a basic breakfast tea with a tea bag and both worked just fine.

Minimalistic, simple, clean. The attachments hold steady to the rim and you do not have to worry about the strainer falling on the jar, or not diffusing enough tea. The holes on the strainer are perfect, not too small and not too wide. This is how come you can even throw in the teabag itself, as it will not fall apart.

Fruit Infusion

I also got the fruit infusion set. Amazing. Now that fruit infusion with drinks is all the rage, there has never been a better time to get your water intake the most deliciously easy way. The best part is that mason jars cool faster and glass makes drinks taste better.  This one also fits regular jars, is BPA free and also dishwasher safe, like all Jarware products. This set is mega cute, because the lid as a mouth opening similar to that of a coffee cup. The fruit strainer comes with it, and they fit just fine when they attach to the rim.

Snack Pack

Also for your consideration is the absolutely amazing wide mouth snack pack. This one is so clever it makes me insane thinking why I couldn’t have come up with this idea. It essentially takes one wide mouth jar, and a smaller container is attached to it upside down. You place your snack, the big one, in one jar, and then the dip in the other one.  Two makes one, and it is super effective to carry around. I took mine to work and filled the small jar with my famous no grain granola and then (eventually) put coconut milk yogurt in the bigger jar. Super effective way to eat well.

Salt & Pepper Shaker

Now, the absolutely coolest gadget I got was the salt and pepper shaker. As

salt pepper
always, the kit is a simple 2-piece set of attachments that go on the mouth of the jar. You can fill the Mason jar with either salt or pepper, but it would be easier with salt. Then, an attachment that works like a mill for the pepper goes straight in the middle of the salt, combining them together. It is the most creative way I have ever seen salt and pepper mixed. It also makes me think of other uses, such as with paprika and pepper, or peppercorns and ginger spice. Interesting to say the least. That’s three saved mason jars that will remain in a good home, serving a great purpose.

Conclusion

There is a superb array of products in the Jarware line. It includes an herb saver, the coffee spoon lid clip and tons of other different innovative ideas.

My favorite features of the Jarware line (aside from the name “Jarware” itself) are:

  1. a) minimalism; simple products, small size, no clunk
  2. b) price; a typical kit would cost an average of 6$
  3. c) colors; super stylish, brilliant and vibrant colors that will make your kitchen look really nice.

To use your own Jarware kit products, all that you would need is a Mason jar with its silver ring rim. All products come in 2-piece kits. You can get your own products at the company website. All are BPA-free, dishwasher-safe, and made in the USA, which means that will be supporting an American insourcing company.

I find it important that re-using, repurposing and recycling are encouraged when using these products. We want to lead healthy lives, but we need a healthy planet to live in, as well.
