Japanese Bakery in Dubai – Yamanote Atelier

By Cosybites @cosybites

Yamanote Atelier

It was all thanks to the Totoro Cream Puffs I brought to my son’s class party. Another mom saw them and told me about a Japanese Bakery that has recently opened in Dubai – Yamanote Atelier, that they also have Totoro, in the form of bread and filled with chocolate cream. I love bread, especially Japanese bread. Naturally I was all excited and looking forward to checking it out. We were there yesterday and I wasn’t disappointed.

The environment at Yamanote Atelier is very cosy and welcoming. Their staff are very friendly too. The bread are nicely displayed on one side and on the other, tables and chairs for you to dine in. My immediate reaction was to pick up a tray and pile it with bread. Then I saw it, the Totoro bread that the other mom was talking about.

The bread selection here is not as much as what we have in the Japanese bakeries in Singapore but enough to get by. We ordered coffee and sat in. Tried their Yamanote Matcha Cappuccino and I love it.

My hubby also couldn’t resist trying one of their buns there, even though we just had a very filling lunch.

Yamanote Atelier - Fried Red Bean Doughnut

He tried the fried red bean doughnut, loves it so much that he bought another two home.

A sample of what we bought

I wanted to buy their melon pan initially but they ran out. I had to wait 1½ hours if I wanted it. I was messaging my friend later in the evening and it turned out, she went to Yamanote Atelier after me and bought the melon pan. -.-

While the bread taste best the day they were made, they still taste very good the next day. I ate the sweet red bean paste bun (an pan) this morning and couldn’t help comparing it with the sweet red bean paste bun I made.

See the BIG difference? I really have to stop stuffing my bread with filling!

:P

Yamanote Atelier is probably the only Japanese bakery in Dubai now. It is very authentic as the master baker is Japanese. I’ll definitely come back for more of their buns. The only drawback I have about this place is the price. We paid 2 times more than what we paid at Petit Provence and Sun Moulin in Singapore.

:(

Yamanote Atelier is located at Unit No. 16, Wasl Square, Al Wasl Road, Dubai. Their website is currently under construction but you can visit their Facebook page for more information. ♥
