After five days of deliberations, on Monday, Boston crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger was convicted on charges related to 11 of 19 murders he was charged with under a federal indictment that also implicated him with extortion, money laundering and other charges.
Bulger was charged with a 32-count racketeering indictment and participating in 19 murders during the 1970s and ′80s while he is led Boston’s notorious Winter Hill Gang.
In mid-July a witness set to testify against Bulger was found dead, although no sign of trauma was found, it was reported that results were pending on toxicology tests, which generally takes several weeks to complete.
