Apple introduced its Touch ID, a great feature that combines both security and convenience, with the release of the iPhone 5S. Thanks to the Touch ID, you’re able to unlock your iPhone, as well as authorize purchases, with a simple scan of your finger. Today we’ll show you how to set it up and use it properly.

To enable the Touch ID, go to Settings>General>Touch ID & Passcode>Touch ID. Once there, you can set up five different fingerprints, but the funniest thing is that, even though it’s called the fingerprint scanner, these don’t actually have to be fingerprints. People have been known to use noses, toes and other body parts we’d rather not mention.
When you decide to set up your Touch ID, make sure that your fingers and the home button are completely dry and clean. Then, hold your finger on the button without actually pressing it, until your phone vibrates. For the fingerprint to be more accurate, you can repeat the process several times – just touch a slightly different part of the home button each time. You can also wipe entries in order to delete them or use Edit to rename them.
