Apple managed to surprise the crowd at the recent media event at the California theater in San Jose by introducing five new devices at once, including the iPad Mini, 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Mac Mini, iMac and the most surprising of all, the next-generation iPad.
No one really expected to see the iPad 4 at this event mostly because it’s only been six month since the release of the iPad 3. But Apple did unveil the next-gen iPad with Retina Display which they claims to be two times more powerful than the previous generation.
The iPad with Retina Display comes with the same 9.7-inch Retina display as its’ predecessor. But it also has few new improved features including a 1.2MP HD front-facing camera, iOS 6 , 8-pin Lightning dock and the super-fast A6X processor, which also powered the iPhone 5.
Surprising thing about the iPad 4 is that it’s heading out at the same price of the iPad 3. Wi-Fi only models start at $499, while Wi-Fi + Cellular versions retails for $629.
