Lada Komarova has always been mesmerized by art – be it modern or contemporary – specifically because it allows the one who enjoys it to discover a different world from the reality they experience. Former owner and manager of a contemporary art gallery and co-founder of the Contemporary Art Fund ARTiculate, today Komarova curates her own brand Delada, inspired by her background in contemporary art and reflecting her personal passion for the art world. For her Autumn/Winter ’14/15 collection it was artist Chris Ofili, whose intensely coloured and intricately ornamented paintings gave him international recognition, who inspired a collection artisanal, elegant and modern with ethnically-inspired details, textures and prints.
Seductive silhouettes comprised from classic garments balance perfectly between two extremes: menswear-inspired ensembles and utterly feminine dresses, pencil skirts and coat-dresses. Fabrics are soft and cozy, ideal to take you from autumn to winter and are enriched by fine textures such as silk, wool, velvet and tweed, Napa leather and fringe details that give the garments a folklore vibe. The color palette is limited and sticks primarily to colors blue, black and red occasionally distracted by strict black and white prints. Statement accessories like gold bangles and earrings, that will be available to purchase soon, decorative leather belts, piping and necklaces finish off the looks.
The Delada woman appreciates fitted clothing that flatters her figure and makes her enjoy a touch of luxury and stand out.
