Octopus Escapes Again!Written and Illustrated by Laurie Ellen Angus
An octopus has all kinds of defense mechanisms to escape its predators. When a sea turtle approaches, she can squeeze into the tiniest of places because she has no bones! When an eel comes after her, she releases a cloud of ink. She sucks in water and blasts off like a rocket when a shark comes near. She can even give up an “arm” when it’s grabbed by a predator because it will grow back. The octopus is a fascinating creature! Bonus material includes more information on the octopus and other ocean animals. Hands-on activities enhance children’s learning about the octopus.
