Over the next little bit, the hectic around here is going to be even crazier! Hard to fathom, right?
I will be attempting to keep up with some regular posting …. but might as well spit it out here and now that this will be completely dependent on a number of factors all which are variable.
This morning the MOTH, Baby Girl and I are heading to Rockhampton. Beef capital of Australia. Central Queensland city of “those” median strip bulls and my home from 1989 through until 1999. My boys were both born there, in 1997 and 1999 respectively, each time we had room 333 in the maternity ward of the Rockhampton Mater Hospital and I remember it all as well as I recall yesterday. Reminiscing type sigh inserted here.

In 1999 it was time to drive away from Rocky with a 2 year old and a 6 month old in tow, heading for a brand new life and relocating to the Sunshine Coast.
Tomorrow I’ll be returning there with a ‘different’ 2 year old in the back seat and no idea of what the place will look like since it’s now been so long. Almost too much water under my bridge in these last 12 years and calculations show that I’ve been away from there longer than I lived there.
That all sounds very reflective … a little nostalgic really doesn’t it?
Well …. you can wipe the mist away because the truth just ‘aint that kind of fantasy. The nutshell of this story is that MOTH’s best mate is turning 50, and because he’s MOTH’s BFF and all, today we are driving seven and a half hours to go to a party tomorrow night to then turn around and drive seven and a half hours home the next morning.
With a 2 year old in tow.
The 2 year old knows none of these people and none of them know her. She ‘aint so good with strangers.
The 2 year old has been known to crack the shits driving 15 minutes to the shops.
I feel that today may actually be a bit like this …….
So, all going well, and no homicide, we will be back here sometime Sunday afternoon. The boys will come home and it will be an early night for all before we are up bright and early for Monday’s adventure.
MOTH will drop the kids and I off at the airport (… and then I’m sure he’ll whistle all the way to the farm with 5 nights of freedom on his mind) to board our flight to here ….

5 sleepovers in the hustle and bustle of Sydney here we come! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Sydney and a lose itinerary at this stage includes a Harbour Bridge climb (for the boys, not the mother with the artificial hip), Madame Tussauds, the Power House Museum and a stiff drink for moi. I’ll of course have my trusty iPad and so will try to pop in for a few updates and holiday snaps until we are back on the 29th.
