Important: Hummus Recall

Odds are good that if you follow this blog, and/or a plant-based diet, you eat hummus - and a good deal of it.  

RECALL ALERT: Sabra hummus. 30,000 cases of it. Listeria seems to be having quite a month. For potentially affected batches and refund info, please visit:

Important: Hummus Recall
In the meantime, thankfully many brands of hummus are available on market shelves that are not Sabra brand, and it is also very easy to make at home.  

Here is a recipe I shared quite a while ago:

1 cup chickpeas, drained

2 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
1 TBSP sunflower seed butter 
1 TBSP lime juice 
1 tsp sea salt

Puree together in a high speed blender and serve.

For a more traditional hummus, replace the sunflower nut butter with tahini, and the lime juice with lemon.
