Warrior Publications reported today that the building that houses Imperial Metals in Vancouver was vandalized with graffiti warning of another potential mining disaster at the Red Chris mine in northern BC.  Imperial Metals is responsible for the largest mining disaster in Canada’s history, which spilled 14.5 million cubic meters into Polley Lake and down into many other waterways, including Quesnel Lake. Quesnel Lake is a major source of drinking water and home to a quarter of the province’s sock-eyed salmon. The effects of the spill, which occurred on August 4th, are still being determined and no clean-up plan has been put in place.
