Author's Good Reads Page Immortal Writers by Jill Bowers ARC REVIEW I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. WHAT'S IT'S ABOUT

Young up-and-coming author Liz McKinnen has no idea that her life is about to change forever when she comes home from her first book tour. When she's kidnapped and told by her captors that she has to kill her fantasy book's antagonist, she thinks that she's fallen into the hands of crazy, dangerous fans... until her antagonist sends a real, fire-breathing dragon after her. Liz is quickly initiated into the Immortal Writers, a group of authors from throughout time whose words have given them eternal life, and whose prose is so powerful that it's brought stories over from the Imagination Field into the Reality Field. As Liz meets authors such as William Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe, and Jane Austen, she has to learn how to control magic, fight dragons, and face her own troubled past before her power-hungry villain takes over the world. Will she survive the ultimate battle against the dragon lord whom she created?

OPENING

Liz looked over her shoulder at the cab that had been following her since she'd left the train station.

WHAT I THOUGHT

I knew I was going to love Immortal Writers as soon as I read the blurb for the book and am glad to say I wasn't disappointed. I absolutely loved this book. Imagine being so talented a writer that your creations come to life? It tickled me that Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe are two of the writers Liz encounters. Shakespeare is pretty cool and a bad-ass who rides dragons. Poe is full of doom and gloom. I loved everything about this book. I loved Liz discovering she has magic and learning to use and control it. I loved her romantic tryst with the hero from her books. I loved the fact that Liz and the other Immortal Writers need to follow the events from Liz's books. Liz is a great character - well rounded, well written and full of flesh and blood. I loved the end of the book when Liz, her characters and other Immortal Writers take on the dragon lord from her books, battling dragons on the way. Immortal Writers is fantastic and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.
