If the Drones Don't Git 'em, a Fed Judge 'n' Jury Will!

By Davidduff

Like everywhere, the wheels of justice turn very, very slowly in America but they do at least keep turning until, in the end, a verdict is reached.  In this case, it is an extremely important verdict which, if it is upheld on appeal, will do more damage to IS and their ilk than all those fighter-bombers.

As reported by Jonathan S. Tobin at Commentary, a Federal court in New York has indicted the Arab Bank for complicity in the Hamas campaign from 2001 to 2004 which kicked off after the Palestinains rejected a peace deal with Israel.  More than a thousand Americans and Israelis were murdered.  Now, 297 American plaintiffs, either survivors or families of the deceased, have brought their claims before a judge and jury claiming that Arab Bank had allowed its facilities to be used for the transfer of funds to a terrorist organisation.  Needless to say, the State Department sided with the Bank:

The bank claimed it didn’t know the account was being used for terrorist activities but this excuse was exposed as a blatant lie during the course of the trial. More importantly, it sought to quash the case and to refuse to divulge information about its accounts. In that effort, it was supported by the U.S. State Department [my emphasis] that seeks, as is its wont, to appease both the Saudis and the Jordanians even if that means excusing the funding of terror.

If upheld this is likely to cost Arab Bank ga-zillions and will put a deep freeze over similar operations by other Banks.
