IDCA Elects New Board

National Jeweler reports today that the Indian & Diamond Colorstone Association (IDCA) has elected their new executive committee. The IDCA, formed initally to promote the importance of Indian presence within the world’s gemstone industry, states its purpose on its website as thus:

“IDCA was formed about 20 years ago with about 60 to 75 members. Today IDCA has a membership of about 300 companies. This is organization formed to represent people of Indian origin. IDCA’s members today include people from the gem and jewelry and diamond industry and also associate members from jewelry related fields. “

IDCA Elects New Board

Nimish Mehta, president of Atit Diamond Corp., was unanimously elected as president. Haridas Kotahwala, associated with several industry companies and corporations including  Jewels & Gifts, Inc., Royal India USA, Inc. and Universal Gem Traders Inc, is the new vice president. Prakash Mehta was elected secretary and Mehul Shah joint secretary, while Gopal Agrawal was elected treasurer.

The new board of directors are:

  • Shekhar Bhansali, Fairway Diamond Inc.
  •  Anu Hirawat, Vimco Diamond Corp.
  • Nitin Jobanputra, Sanghavi Diamonds Inc.
  • Basant Johari, Kuber Mfg. Inc. (also VP of the DDC, briefly acting president, as we told you when Moshe Mosbacher stepped down.)
  • Vinod Kotahwala, Vinod Kotahwala
  • Sanjay Kothari, Interjewel USA Inc.
  • Sourabh Lashkery, Gemorex International Inc.
  • Nilesh Sheth, Nice Diamonds
  • Rayaz Takat, Takat Gems USA Inc.
