=Some big revelations on Once Upon a Time this week, SPOILER ALERT: Emma, Rumple and Henry were in NYC (near the Flatiron building) looking for Bailfire, Rumple's son. Of course they found him right away in a city of 8MM people and who does he turn out to be? Neil, the love of Emma's life ANNNNND...Henry's Dad! Emma called her Mom who gave her the right advice...tell the truth and don't keep secrets from Henry. I have advice for Snow. Do something with those eyebrows. Go see Anastasia or the J Sisters or even Fernanda, my waxer! Just do something. Emma told Henry, Rumple and Neil the truth so Henry and Neil hung out on a fake fire escape and got to know one another. In a flashback, we found out how Rumple got that limp. This seer chick with eyes in her hand, told him not to fight in the Ogre war or his son would grow up fatherless, so he smashed his foot with a hammer, went home to his wife who was pissed off that she was the wife of a coward and left him. In the mean time, back in Storybrooke, Regina, Cora and Hook were looking for Rumple's dagger. Regina went to see Belle in the hospital for help, but of course she has no clue who anyone is anymore, so Regina went through her purse by levitating all of her junk into the air instead of rummaging through it like a normal person would and that guy who was in the car accident videotaped this display of magic on his phone and now he's suspicious sticking around Storybrooke. Anyway, Regina surprised me with her knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system and found the map of where the dagger could be in Belle's beloved library. Next week's the Oscars, but in 2 weeks, we'll see if Neil heads back to Storybrooke or not...I'm betting he follows his son, the magic and the one he loves. Plus it keeps things interesting.
-HUMONGOUS DOWNTON ABBEY SPOILER ALERT AHEAD: Let me start by saying that as I was typing this recap I was (and still am) SO upset with Julian Fellows and how Season 3 of Downton Abbey ended. They really set us all up...I mean the show started out 8 months after Lady Cybil died and everyone seemed to be feeling okay and heading to Scotland for a visit with Rose and her parents. Her Dad Shrimpy (we'll get to that) and her miserable Mom, Susan. They headed up to Duneagle to do a little hunting, fishing and dancing. Sounded great right? It was even great for the staff. A bit of a break for them and coincidentally, there was a fair in town for them to all attend while the Grantham's frolicked in the highlands. There was a lot of love in the air too. Michael Gregory and Lady Edith, Dr. Clarkson and Mrs. Crawley, and Mr. Soften and Mrs. Patmore. Not to be crude, and I know this is where my head goes sometimes...but Soften/Patmore...did you guys go there too or was it just my 12 year old twisted sense of humor? We also had Shrimpy, and Mr. Cox mentioned in this episode...coincidence??? And must I remind you all again about Mr. Bates? Hmmmm. Anyway, while at the fair, the Downton dudes participate in a Tug-of-war and of course, they win, which is even more cause for celebration. James went off on his own and almost got his butt kicked by the Tug-of-War dudes but Thomas saved him and took the beating instead. The only good that came out of it was that now James and Thomas are friends again. Okay so here's where things go bad. Lady Mary went into labor and honestly I WAS nervous. Since Lady Cybil died in childbirth, I was nervous about Mary, but everything went well, she gave birth to a boy and an heir, didn't break a sweat, and looked stunning holding her new baby when her perfect husband came in beaming. The three of them were together and filled with joy and a wonderful future. UNTIL...Matthew died in a car accident at the end of the show? WTF? REALLY? First Lady Cybil and now Matthew? I can't even believe they did this to us all twice in the same season and only 4 episodes apart? No F'ing way. Sorry...I'm really unhappy with this turn of events.
I'm useless after Pilates. Just useless. Which lends itself to catching up on shows I missed during the week or movies I've been wanting to see for a while. So Sunday, I watched two documentaries. I seem to be on a music kick lately. Last weekend I finally got to see the Oscar nominated documentary, Searching for Sugar Man which was amazing and a story I knew nothing about but should have. This weekend it was Beyonce's Life is but a Dream on HBO and The History of the Eagles on Showtime. The two docs couldn't have been any different but both were worth watching. I knew the Eagles story pretty well, there were no huge surprises really, but a lot of great footage and all of the band members participated, so it was great to hear their take on many of the rumors and myths that have always followed them and the band. I still hate Don Henley and love everyone else in the band, but again, the only real thing I learned was that it was Jackson Browne wrote most of "Take It Easy" but was stuck on one of the best lines of the song, and Glenn Frey worked it out and took the song for the Eagles...the line was, "it's a girl my lord in a flat bed Ford slowing down to take a look at me". That was all I really learned in that one. I gotta be honest, I didn't know much about Beyonce at all, and prior to watching the documentary, I didn't feel much about her or her music at all. This documentary was surprisingly interesting. Not THAT revealing, but interesting. Obviously Beyonce is beautiful, talented, wealthy and married to Jay-Z, but it was nice to see her stripped down and honest. I didn't know much at all about the business "break-up" with her Dad, and her need to take control of her career, but thought she was very eloquent and sweet. My favorite moments were the ones where things felt less calculated and more "real". Like when she and Jay-Z sang Coldplay's "Yellow" and seemed to just be a regular couple taking a moment to enjoy each other. As expected, HBO is running the heck out of this one, so you can probably catch it every hour on the hour on TV or On Demand whenever you have a spare couple of hours to kill.

-I think it's time to officially pull the plug on NBC's Up All Night. In addition to all of the other issues the shows been having: low ratings, Christina Applegate leaving and the complete show overhaul mentioned last week, now they have to deal with Maya Rudolph's pregnancy. Maya's on her 4th kid now, so I say...just pull the plug and put this show out to pasture. Enough's enough.
