My love for Kate Spade New York is quite well documented, so I'm so excited to hear that the genius's behind one of my favorite brands is releasing a new line for the younger (and more financially frugal) set. Kate Spade Saturday, will be released in the Spring and has been described as celebrating what they believe as the best day of the week! From the looks of the preview images, this line is going to be adorable! It has a young and fresh feel to it with its mix of brights and neutrals, yet it looks to be effortlessly sophisticated. Sources say that the line will include clothing, accessories, and even home goods. Yay! What's interesting from a business standpoint is that Saturday is being branded not as a diffusion line of Kate Spade New York (à la Red Valentino for Valentino), but as it's own fashion house. It'll be sold exclusively on its website, Saturday.com, and in its own mono-brand boutiques. Really the only relationship it'll have with Kate Spade from a consumer standpoint (besides the name) is that it'll be infused with Kate's signature brights.
