I'm Judging You!

By Tanvi Rastogi @tanviidotcom

It does not mean that I agreed with her on all counts. I had different opinion on several things - I believe each country (U.S.A.) needs to try and solve their own problem before meddling into another country's issues (continent in this case: Africa). I don't think it's easy for everyone to pronounce names from other languages. I do not get offended when someone mispronounces my name. I often come to their rescue. In fact I get annoyed when someone is hell-bent of trying to say my name correctly (as someone proficient in Hindi would) and continues to get it wrong and looks at me with puppy eyes, "did I say it right now?" I received this book just in time for my trip. I read it within a matter of a day or two and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a collection of passionately written essays covering a broad spectrum of topics like : Life, Culture, Social Media and Fame. Luvvie Ajayi, the writer, shares her opinions backed with logic and common sense on women's hygiene, plastic surgery, racism, religion, to social media, reality tv and the consequent fame that comes along with it.
I enjoyed her passionate writing. When I heard (read) her opinions I knew at least ten people from the top of my head, who would get offended if they read her book. I find that exciting because that means she is willing to say-it-like-it-is but not mince her words or be afraid of being true to herself in order to please people.
While it had me laughing, it also was equal parts thought-provoking.
T and I understand you don't have it in your language. I can't say names in Greek, Russian, German, and several African languages even when I try and I hate to butcher them. "I'm Judging You" by Luvvie Ajayi
Nothing the less, I thoroughly enjoyed her views on several issues. In fact I would definitely be referring back to it as she had make some interesting observations about society and backed them up with logic and a case for humanity. I would highly recommend you pick up and add it to your reading list.
